Description

Discover Australian Pine needles for the aquarium by Betta Botanicals 🍂. These long and slender aquarium botanicals add a dynamic accent to the botanical aquarium substrate. Our shrimp, corydoras, bettas, and rabbit snails love to hide in them and forage for food. Great for any botanical method aquarium.
Product Description: Can you use pine needles in aquariums? Yep! Our favorite is the Australian Pine Tree, Casuarina equisetifolia. It happens to be one of the few coniferous trees that have needles you can use in your aquarium. We love them because we don't really see many people using 'needles' in their aquariums (due to a lack of robust knowledge surrounding them), but we have seen that their use helps to mimic a more natural environment for our aquariums. The needles will impart a mild level of tannins to your aquarium, and their thin composition adds a dynamic element to a botanical aquarium. We have found them to last quite a long time in the aquarium, 1-2 months depending on your snail/shrimp population. We keep them with many different species of Bettas, Shrimp, corydoras, and snails. This bag and its contents are biodegradable! Did you know our product packaging is made from renewable and sustainable sugarcane? So just like the botanicals inside, it will compost when returned to nature. Not for Human Consumption. Preparation Required. Quantities: 1 oz Casuarina needles. Sizes range. This is a natural product, and variation between leaves and botanicals is expected. Aquarium Botanical Location: North America and Indonesia.
