Propinquity (pro-pin-kwi-tee): closness, kinship
When I was in high school, I first heard the word ‘propinquity’. For some reason, even though it is a word used rarely ( & is a unique & qwirky word) - I never forgot it, & it has become one of my favorite words. When it came time to name this design, it kept popping up in my mind & I reasoned that it celebrates the ‘kinship’ of the checkerboard & hourglass blocks used in this quilt design.
So here’s to propinquity (& fun quilts!)
Pieced version - 72 x 72
Classic, vintage quilt designs Lately, they are what I want to fill my home with, share with people I love, & share with you! I hope you enjoy creating this classic design & enjoy it for years to come!
Pieced version - 68 x 85
This design is all about subtle color changes that make this design so flexible! And, depending on your color choices, the focus of your quilt can be calm & relaxing by using a soft palette, or one that sparkles with a brighter color selection. Either way, this design, made up of 9-patches & setting squares is sure to become a favorite!
76 x 85
Based on a classic design, I created a modified version that can be easily made with either traditional methods (included in this pattern), or another newer method is with with triangle papers (which I have come to love!). Whichever way you choose - I hope you will make & enjoy this quilt for years to come.
90 x 90
This fun and modern hexie quilt is traditionally pieced using 60 degree triangles.
