Favor Jewelry Brass Crescent Hair Pin White Brass

A crescent of negative space sits on a solid brass hair pin. Once the pin is tucked in, it appears that a crescent moon is floating in your hair.

A subtle crescent moon surrounded by a row of stars is pierced by an arrow. This hair pin is inspired by Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt. She was strong and powerful, protector of girls and of the pregnant, reliever of sickness. This hair pin was originally hand carved by myself in wax and cast in brass or white bronze, then hand-oxidized and finished in my studio. The stick (arrow) measures about 4 3/4 long and the circular part is about 2 1/8 across.
