Hello Spellbinders’ fans! This is Yana and in this blog post & video I will show you how to create beautiful Birthday cards using our new Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil system. I also have a few tips and tricks for you up my sleeve so I hope you’ll enjoy this video. If you are new to the Glimmer Hot Foil system be sure to watch our Introductory video and Basics of Foiling video to learn more. I started making these projects by creating a beautiful background for my card. I used a regular Spellbinders die, Card Creator A2 Corner Cotillion etched die by Becca Feeken. You can do hot foiling not only with Glimmer Hot Foil plates, you can also use some of your regular dies to create beautiful foiled results. Not all dies will work for this technique, so it’s worth testing them beforehand. I used Rose Gold and Matte Gold foils and foiled this die on white and also black cardstock. Next, I hot foiled sentiments for my cards, I used the Happy Birthday Hot Foil plate from the Elegant Occasion Sentiments set. Some of our Glimmer Hot foil plates come with a coordinating die to die-cut the foiled design out. The sentiment set I used here has coordinating dies so I picked one for the Happy Birthday plate to cut this message out in my Spellbinders Platinum die cutting machine. Once my parts and pieces were ready I assembled these cards.
