Your basic medical tape that is less irritating than plastic tapes. For many (though not all) this one is gentle enough for use on eyelids. If you do not tolerate paper tapes, we recommend silicone tapes instead.

This is a popular basic medical paper tape that is gentler to the skin than plastic and woven tapes. While there are lots of much better options available for night eye protection (shields, goggles, etc. designed for the purpose), there still are many situations where tape is unquestionably the most effective tool - especially for things like persistent, severe recurrent corneal erosions.

Last time I used this tape myself, when I removed it, I had to take it slow and careful, pulling downwards, and though there was a very slight rawness after removing it in the morning, it was very brief. I had no residue that I could feel, but I used my Ocusoft foam lidscrub in the shower anyway, and after that the lid I'd taped felt perfectly normal.
