The blooms measure to roughly a half inch in diameter. The difference from regular Forget-Me-Not and Chinese Forget-Me-Not can be seen from the centers of the flowers, as well as the petal formation. Myosotis will display a more slendered petal with small yellow centers, while Chinese Forget-Me-Not blooms display a deep blue center, with shorter, more rounded petals. These plants are known to attract all sorts of beneficial insects to the garden, such as bumblebees, butterflies, hummingbirds and honeybees as well. Chinese Forget-Me-Not is established as an annual / biennial flowering plant. They grow quickly from fresh wildflower seeds, bloom profusely through the warm months of Summer and will later wilt with the cooler temperatures of Late Autumn and early Winter. The seeds can naturally drop to the bare ground beneath, allowing fresh, new plant life to regrow the following season. If your winter temperatures aren't too severe, the plants can also regrow themselves from deeply established roots. Chinese Forget-Me-Not plants are the perfect candidate for use as a cut flower, due to their long slender stems. You should also provide a soil that is moderately rich, to average, but also well drained. To improve drainage, we recommend adding a light compost to any areas that consist of hard, compact soil. Water the seeds lightly each day, with a mist setting or spray bottle, to ensure that they receive enough moisture to germinate properly. Germination & Growth Chinese Forget-Me-Not seeds usually begin to germinate within roughly 7 to 14 days after sowing. The plants reach a mature height of roughly 18 to 24 inches tall, spanning 8 to 12 inches wide. The plants themselves can be spaced roughly 12 to 18 inches apart from one another.
