lt;p>Here's an instrument for the folks out there with grease under their fingernails and motor oil in their veins. Part of our Gearhead series of guitars and other instruments crafted from metal oil and gas cans, this is a fully playable, great-sounding Gitty that is great for playing or just hanging on your garage or man cave wall.</p><p><i><b>The demo video gives you an idea of what these guitars sound like. Each one will have a little bit different tonal character, but will all be close to the one played in the demo vid.</b></i></p><p>This guitar features a real, vintage silver, blue and red "Seaboard" 2-gallon outboard motor oil can as the resonator. To this we have added a beautiful quartersawn white oak fretted neck with dark hardwood fingerboard, a screened sound hole cover and other great features. The oil can itself has been cleaned up a bit, but is still in a fairly "authentic" or "farm fresh" state. The can has a patina of rust, dents, scratches and other markings, and also some silver paint that it picked up somewhere along the way. Take a close look at the photos to get an idea of how much character it has.</p><p>This is a 3-string guitar tuned to "Open G" GDG tuning - we have a growing library of how-to-play videos and tablature on our sister site CigarBoxGuitar.com that you can check out to help get you started. The string gauges we used are .046", .030" and .022" phosphor bronze wound acoustic strings. Open G is a popular tuning for playing blues songs and other musical styles. The scale length of this guitar is 25 inches and it has a built-in piezo pickup so that you can plug it into an amplifier.</p>
