In fact, Ultratherm under tank heaters should always be used with a suitable vivarium thermostat. For species which are particularly temperature sensitive, or in environments which could prone to overheating, it is important that thermostats are used to provide full temperature control. Low wattage, long life, and excellent cost make these under tank heaters great for using with snakes, lizards, inverts, hermit crabs and small animals. This is a UL listed component.
