When you combine engagement with independence, it makes for a math station that both teachers and students love. These self-correcting math stations will give your students valuable skill practice, but they’ll think they’re playing.
All you need to do is add those sweet little erasers from Target. (But really you can use colored buttons or pompoms if you’re in a pinch.)
Teacher instructions: Print off mats and playing cards on cardstock and then laminate for durability. You will need to cut apart the cards and then fold in on the dotted line. I like to secure them with a small clothespin. Students select a card and place it on their mat and then complete the problem by manipulating the erasers with/without tongs and then by using a dry erase marker to complete the problem when necessary. (While I do believe the little gray critters are walruses, it was pretty tough finding clipart for a gray walrus. So, there are two clipart options available for any activity that uses the seal/walrus. This way you can choose.
