Tour du lac Mochou Nanjing
Nanjing Mochou Lake is located in Jianye district, Nanjing. I think many people from other province didn’t know that place, it is not famous as Thousand-island Lakes in Hangzhou and Suzhou Traditional Garden in Suzhou. But it has the same attractive and mystery landscapes as other famous sight spots, like Kunming Green Lake.
I still remember that a Saturday morning in April, 2010, three of my classmates and me went to Nanjing Mochou Lake, on the way, I imagined how it looked like, many beautiful pictures were full of my mind.
After we arrived, it amazed us, it was bigger and more beautiful than I thought. A wide square in our first sight before we went into Mozhou Lake, it was named The Peace Square. Along the square road, we saw a magnificent view – the classical gate of Mochou Lake. There were five words on the gate, it was said that Mr. Guo moruo named this park – Mochou Park in 1964.
Went into the park, along the road, we saw The Rokry made of Taihu stone, the fountain near to The Rokey, Huanan Temple, The Long Pavilion, The Lotus Pond, etc.
When we went to the center of the park, a traditional ancient building in our sight called Shengqi Building, it was a strange name with a long Chinese ancient about Zhu Yuanzhang and Xu Da, we all know that Zhu Yuanzhang was the king in Ming Dynasty, and Xu Da was an officer in Ming Dynasty. They usually played chess at this building, Xu Da made the king Zhu Yuanzhang won the game everytime, that pleased the king, so, the king sent this park to Xu Da as reward and called the building – Shengqi Building.
There was another house in the center of this park named Mochou’s House, there was a yard and a small pond in it, in the center of the pond, it was a Sculpture of Mochou. Along the alley, we went into a ancient building, an ancient reception room with some classical chairs and a classical table, on the back of this reception room, two wax statues on the right, Mochou was embroidering with her servant girl, on the left, it was a ancient bed, it looked clean, tidy and elegant.
Nanjing Mochou Lake, a Beautiful and historical lake, It’s a perfect place to visit if you want to see the beautiful sights with ancient buildings and enjoy the Chinese history stories at the same time.
