Like others here, I had huge problems getting the rubber seals to stick. Almost every piece of weatherstrip applied by the previous owner peeled off or was on the verge of doing so (including the dreaded A-pillar forward door seal.) I basically scraped off and reglued the seals 2 to 3 times, but they would still peel off. I did the cleaning routine with paint prep cleaner, lacquer thinner, and scuffing with a Scotch-brite pad. I too tried the desperation tactic of using urethane glass adhesive
