Weight gain during pregnancy
2nd trimester :5 kgs. 3rd trimester : 5 kgs. Reproductive wt.gain : 6kgs. Maternal weight gain : 6kgs.
Natural sources. Fluid balance. Protein intake. Energy for work.
Milk and milk products like curd,lassi,paneer,cheese,icecream,shrikand. Non veg sources like egg,chicken,fish. Nuts and dried fruits.
Leafy veggies-spinach, methi, drumstick, etc. Iron. Leafy veggie. Beetroot. Jaggery. Poha,Bajra. Dates,raisin,anjir. Non veg sources like liver,kidney,brain.
Nausea and Vomiting. Constipation. Heartburns. Sleeplessness. Oedema/ swelling of face or limbs. Giddiness.
Nutrition corrections for discomforts
Lick on tangy candies, orange or pineapple jellies, Chew on mint,saunf ,jeera etc. Avoid getting hungry.
NAUSEA AND VOMITING B-R-A-T-T diet
Increase consumption of fiber foods. Hot milk before bed time.
CONSTIPATION AND GAS Don’t take laxatives FREQUENT URINATION
Drink water between meals than with meals. Avoid reclining immediately after meals. Decrease quantity at one meal.
Take fluids with glucose and salt eg coconut water, lime juice,glucon C etc. Sleeplessness. Decrease total liquids 2-3 hrs before bed. A cup of hot milk.
Smaller denser meals. Increased fluids.
