Description

When you are at the final stages of making your model, apply a coat of gloss varnish this will give a nice smooth surface for the decal to adhere to. Once the varnish is dry, cut the decal from the backing sheet and float it in a bowl of warm water for 10 seconds , then place onto a piece of kitchen roll to absorb excess water from the backing sheet. While the water is being absorbed on kitchen roll, add a few drops of Micro Set to the model where the decal is to be placed. Micro set contains a wetting agent which removes any unwanted residue from the area. It also helps the decals glue to form a harder bond. Remove the backing sheet from kitchen roll with tweezers and using a clean dry paintbrush slide the decal into position on the model then with a gentle dabbing motion from the paintbrush push down to help the decal to stick. Then apply a few drops of Micro Sol to the decal , don't worry if there are minor distortions, let the decal dry . When dry, any bubbles or imperfections can be removed by puncturing with a needle then add a few more drops of Micro Sol: this will iron out any blemishes, then leave overnight . Once completely dry take a clean wet paintbrush and wash over the decal to remove any excess glue as sometimes a small residue is left. Then finish by adding your varnish of choice to seal it.
